WHAT WILL AN EXCAVATOR 360 OPERATOR DO ON A TYPICAL WORK DAY?
As an excavator 360 operator, working on a construction site could differ from day to day. Most digger operators will carry out the following types of work:
- Moving and operating an excavator safely around site
- Dredging large ditches and even rivers
- Laying pipes to supply buildings with a water source, under the watchful eye of a slinger signaller if required
- Demolition work of existing structures
- Lifting large quantities of materials around site
- Digging and leveling out ground
The type of work carried out by an excavator operator will primarily depend on the level of experience. Most of the tasks listed above are taught as standard during excavator training courses.
Which skills should you have to be a successful excavator operator?
A great operator will be able to carry out the above tasks to a high standard. However the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, have good spatial awareness and the knowledge to control equipment safely will also help complete the job at hand.
