The NPORS Construction Site Safety Scheme – Are you ready to book?

construction site safety scheme

Health and safety is one of the most important things that should be considered before any work is carried out. A construction site is prone to dangerous situations including heavy construction machinery, uneven terrains and hazardous materials. The Construction Site Safety Scheme (CSSS) now gives operators and management within the industry, correct and up to date training to stay safe on site.

Would this scheme be something you can benefit from?

Health and safety is particularly important because the industry is prone to hazardous situations. It can be dangerous at times. Statistics show that 3% of all construction workers in the UK sustain a work related injury. Without the correct health and safety qualifications in place, operators stand a high chance of an accident happening on site.

NPORS, otherwise known as the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme is an awarding body that enables operators to receive qualifications for training and work purposes. They are one of the UK’s leading awarding bodies covering the following sectors:

  • Construction
  • Industrial
  • Utilities
  • Warehousing and distribution
  • Agricultural
  • Ports and marine sectors

Operators that choose NPORS courses will benefit from flexible training whilst maintaining high industry standards.

The Construction Site Safety Scheme (CSSS) is a group of health and safety training courses perfect for operators, supervisors and management staff.

Site Safety Awareness Course

Our Site Awareness course is perfect for anyone working on a construction site, or in a similar industry. It’s always great to be up to date with the latest health and safety knowledge, especially on site. You’ll never know when it’ll come in handy.

This particular course is also equivalent to the QCF Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. So what will the course involve?

Our skilled instructors will ensure all individuals will have an understanding of:

  • Risk assessments
  • Reporting incidents that could result in a potential accident
  • Preventing accidents on site

Construction Site Safety Supervisor Course

Another course within the Construction Site Safety Scheme is the Site Safety Supervisor qualification.

Anyone looking to book onto this course will expect to spend 2 days learning about:

  • Health & Safety Legislation and specific regulations
  • Risk assessments
  • How to properly undertake work tasks when manually lifting and moving loads
  • Discuss the main requirements for working safely at height
  • Identify fire hazards

Once successfully passing this course, the qualification will be valid for 5 years. If you’re looking to renew this afterwards, we also run a Site Supervisor refresher course

Construction Site Safety Manager Course

Are you looking to take the next step in your career, and get promoted from a Supervisor to a Site Manager? Then this course will be perfect for you.

The Site Safety Manager course is ideal for anyone who has responsibilities for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff. A construction site can be a hazardous place if health and safety is not followed. Having up to date knowledge is advantageous for not only you, but your staff.

This particular course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

If you’re already qualified, but your certification is due to expire, we also recommend the Site Manager refresher course
